Saving Living Room Update 2014 Ideas

Take your living room from ugly to beautiful with these affordable updates.you'll love these ideas to try in 2014!

I hope you find these ideas useful and inspiring to you ...... Enjoy it !!

Coffee Table Chic
Here are my go to items for styling a coffee table: a stack of two to four coffee table books, a decorative box (or a smaller pair of boxes, stacked), a decorative object such as a shell or Moroccan star, and a tray. Any three of the four look great (bigger tables can handle more stuff). Add a small bouquet of flowers for extra credit. Voila  instant chic! . by : Elaine Griffin

Bright Lamps
Give an old lamp new life. Spray paint the base a bold, glossy color. Buy an inexpensive shade, and trim it out with grosgrain ribbon. The lamp will look 10 times more expensive than it is and be unique to your home. by : Erin Gates

Color Theory
Problem: Boring mantel Solution: Conquer a blank mantel with color. Choosing one common color such as yellow gives unrelated objects a unifying theme. Shop your house for items in the same color family. Pitchers, plates, books, and pottery come together to make this interesting grouping.

Pretty Pillows
Pillows are an instant way to decorate a room. Take a neutral palette and give it life with colorful fabrics and textures. Use pillows to accentuate a color in a room or to introduce a contemporary element to traditional decor. Choose a slightly oversize pillow with a feather filled insert for a softer, relaxed look. by : Kelly Moseley

Quick and Easy
Problem: Plain upholstery
Solution: Dress up plain chairs by adding a colorful scarf or fabric runner. This is an easy way to add color to a room. You can change it on a whim or with the seasons.

Color Blocking
Paint the inside of a cabinet a bright, bold color and fill the shelves with white objects for a striking, graphic display. You can also round up nonwhite items, such as vases and figurines, and give them a few coats of white spray paint.
